Nissan has been on a quiet mode off late with a lacklustre model line-up and underperforming sales. However this could very well see a change this year with a new Compact SUV in the offing.
The new compact SUV for India is a sub four metre SUV that will rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV 300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon facelift along with upcoming Kia QXi and Renault HBC as well.
The new Compact SUV boasts of being a feature rich offering with strong dynamic road presence and global range inspired styling cues. In true essence, it will be more of a crossover than an upright SUV and will mimic the Kicks to some extent.
The bulging roofline, floating roofline, sweptback headlamps and thoroughly detailed taillamps seem to be inspired from Nissan’s global range. Nissan’s compact SUV for India also gets thick premium window line and a rear roof spoiler that upps the premium quotient in the car.
Since the automaker has been tight lipped about the interior and dashboard layout of the new compact SUV, there is very little that can be spoken about it. However it would be safe to say the interior could come with plenty of space on offer and a lengthy feature list along with connected car tech as well.
Engine power is another department where not much has been revealed, but we cannot rule out the possibility of a 1.0 litre Renault sourced motor being employed under the hood of the new SUV albeit in higher states of tune of course.
