BMW Motorrard has launched the much anticipated GS310 R and G310 GS in India. The G310 R is priced at Rs 2.29 Lakhs, while the adventure suited G310 GS costs Rs 3.49 Lakhs (all ex showroom prices).
Built at the TVS plant in Hosur plant in Bangalore, both the G310R and the G310GS are offered with three year unlimited kilometres warranty while buyers can opt for extended warranty period to the fourth and fifth year respectively.
The G310 R is a naked motorcycle with distinctive front and rear looks and rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with Michelin tyres, while the G310 GS being the adventure suited motorcycle gets a semi fairing setup with a beak and a short windshield and rides on larger 19-inch alloy wheels.
Both motorcycles get their power from 313cc liquid cooled engine producing 34bhp at 9,500rpm and 28Nm torque at 7,500rpm. The engines are coupled to a six speed gearbox and while the G310 R has a top speed of 145kmph, the G310 GS can hit 143kmph. Braking is handled by 300mm front and 240mm disc at the rear on both bikes. Dual channel ABS is standard on both the bikes, but the ABS on the G310 GS can be disengaged for more fun occasionally.
The BMW G310 R rivals the KTM Duke 390, while the G310 GS has no real competition. Bookings for the new BMW motorcycles have already opened across India at all BMW Motorrard dealerships
