First showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the BMW G 310 R in particular has been delayed multiple times for launch; however the recent spotting of the BMW twins on board a truck, reveals that the bikes are not too far away from launch. The G 310 R is a naked motorcycle, while the G 310 GS Adventure as the name suggests is an Adventure based motorcycle.
Power for both the BMW bikes will come from a 313cc liquid cooled single cylinder engine which churns out 34hp and 28nm torque and comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox. BMW will pair both the bikes with dual channel ABS, while suspension duties will be handled by 41 mm upside down forks at the front and pre load adjustable monoshock at the rear on the G 310 R, while the G 310 GS will have 180mm more suspension travel.
When launched the BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS will kick up quite a fight in the Indian market, especially with the Adventure motorcycle segment gaining momentum with KTM’s plans of bringing the Duke 390 Adventure to India soon.
