We have got exclusive news from a reliable source who has informed us that the XL6 bookings are unofficially open at a sum of Rs 11,000. Though not confirmed by Maruti Suzuki, we expect an official announcement regarding the same to made soon enough.
The automaker has also released sketches of the XL6 ahead of its impending launch on 21st of August. However leaked images have made it to the internet a week back thus giving a preview on how the MPV will look like . Based on the Ertiga, the XL6 uses the basic body panels with the Ertiga but gets its own design identity to separate it from the Arena offering. Design highlights such as different looking headlights with daytime running lights that stretch into the grille, black cladding all round with skid plates, black alloy wheels and functional roof rails help lend the XL6 its own design identity and separate it from the Arena offering.

Talking about the design of the car, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “Maruti Suzuki is ready to roll out the next level of excitement with the XL6, a premium MPV, at NEXA showrooms across the country. Apart from the space and functionality that the customers desire for, the all new XL6 offers a blend of sporty design and premium interiors, which will help it in establishing its niche in the MPV segment.”
The highlight of the nterior of the XL6 has to be the six seats on offer in the cabin that includes captain seats for the middle row and a bench at the rear thus confirming it to be a six seater unlike the Ertiga which is a seven seater MPV. The XL6 also sheds the black and beige colour scheme for an all black colour scheme thus evoking the premium feel.
Under its hood, the XL6 will come powered by a petrol engine only, the motor in question will be a 1.5 litre petrol motor that will come strapped to a manual transmission, have SHVS smart hybrid technology and will be BS6 complaint form the first day of launch.
The Maruti Suzuki XL6 will go up against the likes of the Mahindra Marazzo, Renault Lodgy. Pricing will however command a premium over the Ertiga which is priced at Rs 9.29 lakhs to Rs 11.21 lakhs (ex showroom prices).
