Honda Cars India has after much delay caused by the COVID19 crisis introduced the WR-V facelift. The new WR-V facelift evokes new updated design and interior, BS6 petrol engines and two variants – S and VX in petrol and diesel.
The new Honda WR-V receives redesigned front and rear bumpers, a bolder chrome grille upfront along with an all LED lighting package. The package will include LED lighting treatment for the headlamps, daytime running lights, fog lights and rear combination lamps. It also gets a new front grille; new R16 diamond cut alloy wheels and a shark fin antenna.
The interior benefits from the addition of new premium upholstery finished in embossed and mesh designs and chrome accents. Features and kit are the same as before, buyers still get the power folding and adjustable wing mirrors, driver height adjust, one touch electric sunroof, touch panel Auto AC, Multi information instrument cluster with Eco assist, push button start/stop and keyless ignition and keyless remote.
Powering the WR-V this time around is the same 1.2 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engines as before. The 1.2 litre I-VTEC in BS6 spec produces 90hp and 110Nm of torque, while the 1.5 litre diesel in BS6 spec puts out 100hp and 200Nm of torque.
Transmission options have been limited to just a 6-speed manual gearbox for 2020, while the automatic has been discontinued. Fuel economy figures have been rated at an impressive 16.5kmpl ARAI tested for the petrol manual, while the diesel delivers 23.7kmpl.
Safety features in the WR-V are carried over from the outgoing car, it counties to offer dual SRS airbags for front passengers, ABS with EBD, Electronic brake distribution, ECU immobilizer, Driver side one touch operation for window with pinch guard, rear parking camera and sensors and rear windshield defogger.
Honda is also offering a 3/year unlimited kilometre warranty as standard on the 2020 WR-V facelift. Additionally the WR-V facelifted can also be speced with two years unlimited/limited kilometres warranty to provide extra peace of mind.
A low cost mantainence package with service interval of 1 year /10,000kms whichever is earlier. The 3-year Annual Maintenance Package at the time of car purchase with an average cost of Rs. 4 000 for Petrol and Rs. 6 000 for Diesel per year says Honda.
The automaker has also introduced 6 paint schemes like Premium Amber Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic and Platinum White Pearl.
The 2020 Honda WR-V facelift rivals the Mahindra XUV3OO, Ford Ecosport, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
