Bookings have finally been set open by Hyundai Motor India for their new sub four metre sedan Aura. The Aura is set to replace the Xcent in the automakers model line-up.

Customers queuing up for the Aura can book their car through the company’s website https;//bookonline.hyundai.co.in or visit the dealership and make a payment of Rs 10,000/-. Buyers can also choose between 5 different trim levels – E, S, SX, SX (O) and SX+,

Based on a new platform the Aura gets its own design identity, while borrowing a few cues from the Grand i10 Nios. Hyundai says the design identity is defined by harmony among the four fundamental elements of proportion, architecture, styling and technology.

The interior is still under wraps however the dashboard will borrow a lot from its hatchback sibling the Nios. We can also confirm the presence of am 8.0 inch touchscreen infortainment system; a 5.3 inch screen integrated into the instrument console, an Arkamys sound system among many more.

Powering the Aura however are three engine options including – a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated kappa petrol motor, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.2 litre diesel. The 1.0 litre turbo petrol churns out 100ps and 17.5 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only.

The 1.2 litre kappa petrol puts out 83ps and 11.6kgm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT. The 1.2 litre Ecotorq diesel screams out 75ps and 19.4kgm of torque and comes mated to a 5–speed manual only.
