Hyundai has been testing a new model set to launch in the international markets called the Bayon. The i20 based crossover is expected to be launched in the UK soon enough with teasers already being released on the company’s website.
The teaser reads “The all new Bayon coming soon” and although a launch timeline has not been revealed yet, the crossover could launch within this financial year 2021 itself.
The Bayon has been revealed as being small on the outside and big on the inside that is designed to make a lasting impression. What we understand by this is that the Bayon will be a compact crossover with loads of space and a stylish design that will turn heads or stand out in the crowd.
Nevertheless the Hyundai Bayon will come with split headlights, wide honeycomb (a Hyundai signature) grille, body cladding, skid plates at front & back and large alloy wheels. The interior will come with a 10.25 inch touchscreen and instrument cluster and be loaded with features. LED mood lighting is also expected to be part of the package.
Talking space the Bayon will offer 993mm headroom for the driver and front passenger and 977mm for rear passengers. Front passengers can enjoy 1,072mm legroom while rear passengers 882mm legroom. Boot capacity stands at 411 litres with a possible 60:40 split rear seat for better luggage carrying capacity.
Powering the Bayon upon launch in the UK will be a turbo GDi engine with 48 volt mild hybrid and a 6-speed intelligent manual transmission as well. Among the long list of exterior colour options expected to be on offer, dual tone colours could also be offered as the model pictured on the Hyundai UK site wears the dual tone colour.
