Hyundai has launched new entry level trims for the Creta 1.6 litre diesel known as E+ and EX priced at Rs 10.88 lakhs and Rs 11.92 lakhs (ex showroom prices) respectively. Earlier available only from the higher spec SX variant onwards, the 1.6 litre diesel can now be had in the lower trims which mean an affordable price tag.

This move however hasn’t replaced the 1.4 oil burners on sale earlier which continues to be on sale even today. Hyundai however has not made any changes to the feature list on offer with kit such as electric adjust for the wing mirrors, remote central locking, halogen headlamps, power windows are still present in the car,

The EX variant adds a 5.0 inch touchscreen infortainment system, rear parking camera and LED daytime running lights to the features list.

Mechanically though the 1.6 litre diesel produces 128bhp and 260Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only. The Korean automaker does offer ABS with EBD, dual airbags and a speed alert system on the safety side.

Competition for the Creta has not been easy with the Kia Seltos, MG Hector to deal with along with the Mahindra XUV 5OO, Nissan Kicks, Tata Harrier, Renault Duster and Captur also present.
