Kia Motors first product for the Indian market, the Seltos has been off to a roaring start. The first day of bookings has spelt success for the SUV and the brand in the India market as it has already grabbed over 6000 bookings from across the country on the first day of bookings being opened.
Set to be launched on the 22th of August, the Seltos SUV will be sold and retailed through 265 touch points or dealerships across 160 cities in the country. We also recently broke the news of Automotive De Crystal being appointed dealer partner for Kia Motors in Goa.
The Seltos will come in two trim levels Tech and GT line and will be powered by 6 powertrain along with multiple manual and automatic transmission options as well. The petrol line-up will include 1.4 litre turbo petrol for the Tech trim and 1.5 litre petrol for the GT line.
The 1.4 litre turbo petrol will produce 140 PS and 242 Nm of torque and come mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The Sporty nature oriented GT line receives a 1.5 litre petrol putting out 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque and come mated to a 6-speed manual and a CVT as well. The diesel powered Seltos will also be on offer with the GT line as again a 1.5 litre unit churning 115 PS and 250 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox.
Armed with sharp and stylish design, the Seltos looks smart, stylish and sharp and looks near identical to its concept codenamed SP21. The Seltos gets the trademark a tiger nose inspired grille, LED headlamps, sharp bumper design, large glasshouse area hinting at a spacious cabin, well pronounced wheel arches and LED taillamps.
The interior follows a clean and neat design concept and gets a multi layered dashboard with the standout feature being the 10.25 inch touchscreen infortainment system that is loaded with features and tech. Kia is also offering the UVO connect app said to offer 37 smart features under five caterogores – Navigation, Vehicle management, Convience, Remote control along with Safety and Security.
Kia will be offering the Seltos in 7 exciting paint schemes – Intense red, Glacier white pearl, steel silver, Gravity grey, Aurora black pearl, Intelligency blue and Punchy Orange. Also on offer will be 5 dual tone colours – Steel silver with Punchy orange, Glacier white pear with Punchy orange, Intense red with Aurora black pearl, Glacier white pearl with Aurora black pearl and Steel silver with Aurora black pearl.
The Kia Seltos will go up against the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra XUV 500.
