Kia’s first product for India has been spied completely undisguised in public for the first time thus giving a firsthand look at the C-segment SUV. The model spied however is the international spec model and goes by the name Seltos, but the India spec model will get a different name for suited for Indian tastes.
As can be seen from the pic, the Kia Seltos is pretty large in size and packs an upright handsome SUV design. The face gets flat bonnet along with the well detailed LED headlamps and the famed tiger nose grille. Lower down in the bumper a slim air dam makes its present felt along vertically placed daytime running lights and a skid plate. The side profile gets a neat design and well pronounced wheel arches with pretty large alloy wheels and a black finish for the roof and wing mirrors. The rear on the flipside receives wraparound taillamps with a chrome strip running across the tailgate and a roof spoiler. It also gets steeply raked windscreen, dual exhaust and a skid plate.
The interior is still under wraps but the recent sketch teaser has shown a clean design with an uncluttered look for the dashboard. The centre console takes pride of the 10.25 inch touchscreen system that is expected to offer seamless access to a range of features such as navigation and more. Kia is also known for its high quality interiors and we expect the treatment for the Seltos SUV as well.
There’s no word on the engine capacity or power and torque figures just as now, but it would be safe to say that the Seltos will be powered by petrol and diesel engines with a choice of manual and automatic gearbox options.
The Kia Seltos will rival the already crowded compact SUV segment consisting of Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV 500 and Nissan Kicks.
