Mahindra has unveiled the brand name of the highly anticipated model code named S201. The new model has been named XUV 300 carries forward the Cheetah inspired design from its bigger brother the XUV 500. The XUV 300 will be built at Mahindra’s plant in Nasik and will launch in the first week of February.
Speaking at the name reveal, Dr. Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, M&M Ltd. said “The XUV300 is our latest offering in the next generation of aspirational Mahindra vehicles, after the Marazzo and the Alturas G4. Our new breed of vehicles are products of engineering excellence, offer high refinement and are built on global platforms. XUV500 enjoys huge equity in consumers’ minds and now with the XUV300, the XUV brand will evolve into a family of vehicles that stands for sophistication with performance.”
Based on the SSanyong Tivoli platform, the XUV 300 gets sculpted bonnet angular headlamps and chrome ringed front grille. The headlamps get dual LED daytime running lamps that extend into the fog lamps forming a cheetah like tear duct. The sculpted wheel arches hold in stylish machined 17-inch alloy wheels that combine with the pronounced shoulder and body lines to give the SUV a bold and charismatic road presence. In addition, the XUV 300 also gets bold LED tail lamps creating an indelible visual signature.
On the inside, the SUV receives a modern cabin that looks to be finished off in brown and beige trim. Some of the features for the XUV 300 include a touchscreen inforrtainment system, dual zone climate control and even a sunroof amongst others.

We will offer the XUV300 in both petrol and diesel options.”
Under its hood will be a petrol and diesel motor while transmission options however will include only a 5-speed manual for now.
The Mahindra XUV 300 is expected to kick up quite a storm with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon when it launches early Febuary 2019 which are when prices will also be announced.
