Confirmed news is that the new Waganor will move a scale higher to be underpinned by the Heartect platform that also formed the base for the Swift, Dzire and Ertiga recently. The new Waganor will also wear a design language which will be different from how the current one looks, however it will still be identifiable as a Waganor.
Leaked images that surfaced online have revealed some interesting design details of the car like the suqarish front grille with thick chrome strip, edgy headlamps, larger wheels and Christmas tree taillamps inspired from the Honda CR-V.
The 2019 Waganor is expected have a lot more space on the inside courtesy the new Heartect platform that has led to the increase in width. The cabin sports a futuristic design with black and beige colour for the trim and dashboard. It will also get the company’s Smartplay inforrtainment system that will come packed with loads of features within it
The bigger news however that is the new Waganor will get the larger and more powerful 1.2 litre engine under its hood. Maruti Suzuki says that the new engine will deliver impressive performance with high fuel effiencey.
The 68 bhp 1.0 litre motor that powers the current car will continue to be offered alongside the new engine. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and AMT but unlike its competition, there is talk of the AGS transmission being offered in the top trims as well.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to take things to a whole level with the new Waganor and give its rivals consisting of Hyundai Santro and Datsun GO some tough competition.
