Maruti Suzuki has announced that the Celerio small-car has crossed a commendable 1 lakh units sold within a year. The automaker has reported an increase of 10% sales as compared to last year
Launched in 2014, the Celerio is designed to offer a perfect blend of comfort and utility. The vehicle is a complete package full of pleasant surprises. Almost 103,734 units with culminative sales of nearly 4.7 lakhs units are sold since its launch in 2014. According to Maruti Suzuki, the AGS auto variant of the Celerio accounts 31% of the sales, while 52% buyers choose the top end Zxi variant. The CNG variant also accounts for 20% of the total sales of the Celerio.

It was the first car to democratize two-pedal technology and the recent upgrade in its safety features has significantly enhanced its appeal as the perfect city car. Based on customer feedback, we have continuously provided new contemporary features in Celerio to keep them delighted.”
Powering the car is a K10 petrol motor that produces 67 bhp and 90 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and AGS automatic. Among several benefits, Celerio’s 1-Litre petrol engine delivers a fuel-efficiency of 23.1 km/l for both Auto Gear Shift (AGS) and the manual transmission variants. The factory-fitted CNG Celerio offers a fuel-efficiency of 31.76 km/kg.
