Maruti Suzuki India has proactively issued a voluntary recall for the new generation Swift and Dzire models to inspect a possible fault in the airbag controller device. The recall will affect 566 new Swift and 713 Dzire models manufactured between 7th May 2018 and 5th July 2018.
Maruti Suzuki dealerships will contact the owners of the affected vehicles so as to inspect, rectify and repair the potential safety defects in the cars. The dealership will carry out the repair of the affected vehicles for free of cost at its workshops spread across the country.
Owners of the new generation Swift and Dzire can also visit the company website and fill the chassis number ( for new Swift – MBH and for new Dzire – MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) on the computer screen to check if their vehicle is affected or not. The chassis number is embossed on the vehicle ID plate and is also mentioned in the vehicle invoice or registration documents.
Customers can also contact their nearest Maruti Suzuki dealers and workshops to ascertain if their vehicle is among the above vehicles.
