Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Waganor CNG known as S-CNG. The new CNG powered variant is priced at Rs 4.84Lakhs and 4.89 Lakhs (ex showroom Delhi) and is available in Lxi and Lxi (o) variants.
Buyers queuing up to purchase the hatchback will be glad to understand that the CNG powered Waganor delivers a class leading 33.54 km/kgm from the 1.0 litre petrol motor.
On introduction of WagonR CNG, Mr. R.S. Kalsi, Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “At Maruti Suzuki, we continuously strives to offer products that are technologically advanced and environment friendly. With WagonR S-CNG customers will be able to enjoy the benefit of 26% better fuel economy than the outgoing WagonR CNG and superior technology which is safe, reliable and environment friendly.”
Maruti Suzuki has worked on ensuring the CNG powered Waganor delivers high performance with dual ECY and intelligent gas port injection technology. The technology delivers calibrated quantity of fuel to the engine which returns improved fuel effiencey, active pickup and superior drivability.
The country’s largest car manufacturer’s smart packaging has also ensured better vehicle dynamics and spare tire accessibility that can be accessed without any hindrance.
The 1.0 litre motor doing duty in the CNG Waganor produces 67 bhp and 90 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual only and the AMT isn’t offered even as an option.
CNG powered vehicles have attracted more than 5 lakh customers who own models such as Waganor, Celerio, Eeco, Super Carry mini truck and Dzire Tour S and have chosen Maruti Suzuki factory-fitted CNG vehicles states a statement issued by Maruti Suzuki.
The CNG powered vehicles will be available states with CNG infrastructure including Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Mumbai, and Pune. While parts of Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh will also receive the CNG vehicles. However CNG hasn’t quite picked up in Goa just as yet, but we Auto Goa hope the reaches Goa soon.
