Taking road side assistance to a new level, India’s largest car maker has launched a brand new initiative called the Quick Response Team (QRT) on bikes. The brand new initiative has been rolled out with 350 bikes in 251 cities in the initial fleet, while progressive expansion is planned by end of 2020 with 500 more bikes.
The Quick Response Team will be backed by an IT department to ensure a user friendly experience. The bikes will be tooled with essential kit required to handle a break down like Jump start cable, tyre inflator, tool box among others.
When a Maruti Suzuki car reports a break down, a web based system will identify the GPS location of the nearby technician and assign him the complaint. The customer in distress will then be able to connect over the phone and see each other’s location, estimated time of arrival through the Maruti Care App.
Maruti Suzuki says the Quick Response Team will be able to handle 90% of the problems faced by customers on the road. The QRT Service will not be limited to its Arena range of cars alone but will be extended to Nexa customers as well.
Launching the distinctive initiative, Mr Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “Customer obsession being a core value of Maruti Suzuki, it drives us every time to come up with innovations to delight our customers. Started over two decades back, Maruti Suzuki is the pioneer of road side assistance programme in India. The launch of Quick Response Team on Bikes is a strategic decision to rapidly help attend customer cars that may have broken-down on the road. We are confident that this initiative will take Maruti Suzuki’s service for customer care to the next level of convenience.”
Customers having their cars under warranty can avail the QRT service as a complementary, while those not covered under warranty will have to pay anything between Rs 420 to Rs 575 on a per call basis and depending on location of the customer’s car.
Customers can also avail the service through Maruti Care App or by dialling in the Maruti On road Service (MOS) toll free numbers: 1800 102 1800 (ARENA) and 1800 102 6392 (NEXA).
