Maruti Suzuki has launched a new updated Alto800 priced at Rs 2.94 Lakhs. The new updates come in the form of captivating looks and a BS6 ready complaint engine.

The New Alto is India’s first BSVI compliant entry segment car with a powerful engine and high fuel efficiency of 22.05 km/l. We are confident that the New Alto will be a car that young Indians will be proud to own.”
The new 2019 Alto sports a redesigned front end that helps it appear stylish yet matured. Upfront it gets an elegant new grille flanked by cute looking headlights; the bumper design is all new too and receives a wider air dam and a new side fender along with a provision to fit LED daytime running lights as an accessory. Newly designed outside rear view mirrors also make their way to the updated hatchback.
On the inside, the biggest update comes in the form of a redesigned dashboard which seeks inspiration from the more powerful AltoK10. The cabin now sports a black and beige colour scheme along with a black and cream upholstery for the door trim and seats. The 2019 Alto also integrates a new bluetooth enabled music system that helps the interior look sleeker than before.
Powering the car however is the same 796cc petrol motor but its BS6 compliant but produces the same 35.3 KW of power and 69 Nm of torque. It also comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and delivers 22.06kmpl. Confirming that the Alto is updated with the soon to be mandatory safety regulations, it gets a speed alert system, ABS with EBD, a driver airbag along with driver and passenger side seatbelt reminder as standard, while dual airbags are optional on the lower trims.
In terms of the competition, the 2019 Alto rivals the Datsun Redigo and Hyundai Santro.
