Morris Garages has announced its plans to launch the Hector Plus soon in the Indian market. The British automaker has begun production of the product at its plant in Halol Gujarat.
A few set of teaser images released by the company have also given us a good first glimpse of the car in production ready form. Sharing its base with the standard MG Hector, the Hector Plus gets unique styling tweaks and a third row of seats albeit a slightly longer wheelbase.
Styling tweaks present in the Hector Plus include differently styled LED daytime running light, LED headlights and LED taillights, while the front and rear bumpers have also been redesigned.
Talking about the all important third row of seats, it will come in 6-seat configuration with 2+2+2 seating layout with captain chairs in the middle and a bench at the rear. However a 7-seat version cannot be ruled out for the future.
MG has also heed attention to the Hector Plus in terms of features differentiation by giving its new offering a few more features. Buyers will get a Panoramic sunroof, handsfree tailgate function, Upgraded 10.4 inch touchscreen infotainment system and much more.
Mechanically the Hector Plus from MG will most likely be powered by the same engine options. The line-up ranges from standard 1.5 litre turbo petrol with 143hp and 250Nm of torque, a 48v mild hybrid paired to a 1.5 litre petrol with 141hp and 250Nm of torque and a 2.0 litre diesel with 170hp and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options include 6-speed manual for hybrid petrol and the diesel, while the turbo petrol also gets an automatic transmission option.
