Mr Martin Uhlarik as new Global Design Head of Tata Motors

Tata Motors has announced that Mr Martin Uhlarik has been appointed as the new Global Design Head of the company. This move comes in the wake of Mr Pratap Bose’s sudden move of resigning from the company to move to Mahindra & Mahindra.

Tata Motors has said that until recently, Mr Uhlarik was leading the Tata Motors European Technical Centre. He now replaces Mr Pratap Bose who has chosen to pursue opportunities outside the company.

Over the past course of his 27 year carrier, Mr Uhlarik was involved in working closely with the designs of successful nameplates and models with many leading global OEM’s. Having joined Tata Motors as the Head of Design UK in 2016, he has led the development of 3 generations of models and vehicles.

Mr Uhlarik is expected to continue operating from TMETC in the UK and lead teams in three Tata Motors Design centres in Coventry UK, Turin (Italy) and Pune (India). He will report into Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors.

 Mr Uhlarik secured a degree in Industrial Design from the Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto, Canada in 1993. Also secured in his education was a degree in Transportation Design from Art Center College of Design in Vevey, Switzerland in 1994.
