Admits all the speculations and renderings floating online on how the next generation Grand i10 will look. Korean auto manufacturer, Hyundai has let out fresh set of images thus revealing the next generation Grand i10 for the first time.

Know to be India’s much loved and awaited hatchback in the market, the new model will now go by the name Grand i10 Nios. The name ‘NIOS’ means ‘More’ and depicts the persona of the athletic millennial offering more value, more features, more space and More excitement to live a happy millennial life.

Commenting on the unveiling of 3rd Generation GRAND i10 NIOS, Mr SS Kim, MD & CEO- Hyundai Motor India Ltd said, “Hyundai Motor India has created benchmarks in the Indian automobile industry by introducing Cutting-edge technologies and Best-in-segment world-class products for the past 21 years. “With the New GRAND i10 NIOS, we have created a new paradigm ensuring to maximise our customers’ emotional values in the perfect harmony with the four elements of Hyundai Design Identity: ‘Sensuous Sportiness’, such as Proportion, Architecture, Styling and Technology.”

The Grand i10 Nios gets an all new design that’s mature and good looking, while still retaining the tallboy profile of the previous gen car. It gets new upswept projector headlamps, wide cascade grille, integrated boomerang style daytime running lights and larger air intakes with fog lights. Though exterior dimensions have not been revealed, the car does appear to be longer in length which should translate into more room in the cabin. Also on offer are a handsome set of dual tone alloy wheels wrapped in chunkier tyres.

The interior is new too and now and sports ivory grey and white dual tone colour scheme. The dashboard has been redesigned and the touchscreen infortainment system has been moved up next to the instrument console while the A/C vents are placed in the middle with the automatic climate control sitting lower down. The other changes include mildly updated instrument console, new steering wheel, circular A/C vents on the sides and a new storage area above the glovebox. A deeper look at the images also reveals textured finish for the dash just above the storage area and side door pads which is sure to god down well with Indian customers.

Speaking about the feature list, as expected the Grand i10 Nios will also come loaded with a long feature list. What could be different though is apart from the usual feature list on offer, we also expect the new tallboy to offer connected technology with blue-link connectivity.

Mechanically the Grand i10 Nios is expected to be powered by the same 1.2 litre petrol and diesel engines mated to 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. However power and torque figures could be retuned for better performance, driving dynamics and economy. Also worth noting is that the engines on offer will be BS6 from day of launch.

The Grand i10 is expected to be retained and sold alongside the new Grand i10 Nios which means pricing could be premium as well. Meanwhile bookings have begun at all Hyundai dealerships across the country and official digital platforms.Nevertheless the Grand i10 Nios will go up against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo, Tata Tiago and Toyota Liva,
