Hyundai is almost set to launch yet another model in the Indian market, however this time it’s a facelift. The car we are talking about is none other than the Elantra sedan. The updated executive sedan is set to be launched on the 3rd of October.
The car posses sportier, futuristic and progressive design language with sharper and meaner looks. The biggest change as with most facelifted cars is in the face, there’s a new hexagonal grille flanked angular headlamps with daytime running lights and new a redesigned front bumper. The side profile carries on unchanged save for new alloy wheels, while the rear receives a neat look with a redesigned bootlid, sleek LED taillamps and a new bumper.
The interior is still under wraps, but we can expect new cabin colours, seat upholstery and updated equipment and features. Apart from an updated infortainment system, Hyundai’s famed Blu link has been added to the features list of the car along with auto defogger and tyre pressure monitoring sensor as well.
Under the hood the Elantra is powered by the same 1.6 litre petrol engine with updated power and torque output, however transmission options will likely remain the same 6-speed manual or automatic. The bigger news though as confirmed by a Hyundai dealer is that the Elantra will ditch the diesel engine altogether and will come in petrol only which will be BS6 from day of launch.
Bookings for the updated Elantra have begun and the car can be booked at any of the Hyundai dealerships or online through the website. The Elantra facelift will rival the Toyota Corollas Altis, Honda Civic and Skoda Octavia. Stay tuned for more details with the launch date around the corner.
