The much hyped 3rd Mandovi bridge is all set to be completed soon. The new bridge is being constructed by Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation along with Lasern and Turbo.

A week back, the final slab connecting Porvorim Pundalik Nagar to the bridge was installed using full depth precast deck slabs. With this installation complete the bridge is connected to Porvorim, with work on the Panjim side going on in full swing.

The 620 metre long bridge will originate from Merces junction on the Panjim side and end at Pundalik Nagar on the Porvorim end. The bridge will have separate access ramps for vehicles arriving from different destinations to join the bridge.

The new bridge is also expected to reduce the amount of traffic congestion witnessed at the Kadamba bus stand circle with traffic coming from Ponda, Margao and Vasco directly climbing onto the bridge from Merces junction.

A recent report that has been published on the Navhind times  stated that the bridge will not be ideal for two wheeler riders as the wind velocity would be of a higher frequency considering the  height of the bridge from ones present currently.
