Korean car manufacturer has revealed that the next generation Grand i10 will launch on the 20th of August. This news squashes all rumours of the hatchback being launched in October right in the middle of the festive season.
Based on an updated BA platform, the 2020 Grand i10 will not have the same wheelbase as the International model unlike the current car where the wheelbase length has been increased in favour of more space.
The styling as seen from the spy shots will be sharper and more stylish than the current model; it will get a larger cascade front grille, new and bigger headlamps with daytime running lights and bigger wheels with new alloy wheels design.
On the inside, the test models have confirmed the presence of a bigger touchscreen infortainment system that could be a free standing unit and blue on black backlit for the instrumentation, climate control and infortainment. As with all new cars that change their generation expect a new dashboard design with richer materials and new seats along with upholstery as well.
On the features and safety front too, Hyundai as well known will pack in quite a lengthy list of kit in the new Grand i10 as well. However the newly introduced Blu link connected car tech could be offered as well.
There’s no word on what engines will be on offer, but we expect the Korean car manufacturer to give its popular hatchback an improved BS6 version of its current petrol and diesel engines with manual and the in-house developed AMT gearbox as well.
The Hyundai Grand i10 rivals the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo that could face some fierce competition soon.
