Nissan has finally revealed the prices for the Kicks in India. Bookings for the car had begun earlier in December for Rs 25,000. Manufactured at the company’s plant at Oragdam Chennai, the Kicks is available in two petrol and four diesel variants.
Built on the MO platform that is also shared with the Terrano and Renault Duster, The Kicks carries forward the same stylish Crossover styling from the global model. However the India-spec Kicks is notably larger in size.
The face wears the v-motion grille with chrome surround, LED projector headlamps and a front skid plate. Moving to the side the highlight of the Kicks includes floating roof, dual tone roof colours and silver finished roof rails. . At the rear however it gets boomerang style taillamps. The Kicks for India rides on 17-inch machined alloy wheels wrapped in Apollo tyres.
The interior of the Kicks is finished in black and brown colour scheme that is available on the seats and door pads as well. The cabin also gets soft touch parts for the dashboard that lends a premium feel. The instrument cluster gets a digital speedometer in between the dials that looks rather sporty.
Sitting at the centre of the console is a large 8.0 inch touchscreen inforrtainment system that comes with Android auto and Apple CarPlay. Nissan has also integrated a first in class 360 degree reverse parking camera onto the touchscreen which aids in parking the car
Feature list available on the Kicks include cruise control, ambient lighting, smartcard with keyless entry, rain sensing wipers, push button start/stop and rear A/C vents. It also gets 400 litre boot space that can be increased if the rear seats are folded
Powering the SUV is 1.5 litre H4K petrol and 1.5 litre K9K dci diesel engines. The 1.5 litre petrol makes 106 ps at 5600rpm and 142 Nm of torque at 4000rpm. The 1.5 litre diesel produces 110ps at 3850rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 1750rpm. Transmission options for petrol engine include a 5-speed manual and 6-speed manual for the diesel; however no automatics are on offer as of now.
On the safety front, the Kicks gets dual front airbags and side seat airbags, speed sensing door lock/unlock, seatbelt reminder, follow me home headlamps, rear parking sensors, ABS, EBD, braking assistance. Incidentally hill start assist and vehicle dynamic control are available only on the diesel car.
Buyers can also choose from 11 colour options which include Pearl white, Blade silver, Bronze grey, Fire red, Amber Orange, Deep blue pearl, and Night shade. Dual tone colour options include Fire Red and Onyx black, bronze grey with Amber orange, Pearl white with Onyx black, Pearl white and Amber Orange.
