These include Sandstone brown, Blade silver, Onyx black and Storm white, while the dual tone choices include Flare carnet red with Onyx black, Pearl white with Onyx black, Vivid blue with storm white and Tourmaline brown with Onyx black.

The new Nissan Magnite looks great with butch looks, however the stance appears more crossover like rather than upright SUV. The face gets the traditional Datsun grille along with sweptback angular LED headlights and L-shaped daytime running lights. There’s a genuine hint of SUV flavour with thick side body claing and skid plates at front, side and rear.

The side profile carries strong presence with masculine haunches at the above the front and rear wheel arches which are important for an SUV. Also along the sides are large windows and floating roof effect at the rear and functional silver finished roof rails.

The rear has a pair of beautifully designed taillights which although not LED resemble them from their design. There’s also the roof spoiler, and a countered boot lid with the newest iteration of the Nissan logo along with Magnite badging in bold lettering.

The interior of the Nissan Magnite has a pleasant cabin that’s finished in all black trim. The dashboard has a neat design with soft touch materials in the middle length of the dashboard. It also gets chrome lined octagonal A/C vents, an 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system and rotary A/C controls with screen built within the dials.

The Magnate’s dashboard also has a console below the A/C controls, this console however also forms the part for the wireless charging and a start/stop button. Higher variants are also expected to pack in an air purifier placed below in the console between the front seats.

Talking about features, the Magnite will pack in lots right from LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, alloy wheels, digital instrument cluster with 7.0 inch TFT screen, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 360 degree camera and lots more, tyre pressure monitor, puddle lamps, ambient lighting, six speakers,

Powering the Nissan Magnite are two engine options, a 1.0 litre NA petrol with 72ps and 96Nm of torque and a 5-speed manual gearbox along with 1.0 litre HRAQ turbo petrol motor with 100ps and 160Nm of torque. Point to be noted is in the Magnite turbo manual makes 100ps with 160Nm of torque, while with the CVT automatic it makes 100ps and 152Nm of torque.

Talking about safety, the Magnite will come with ABS with EBD, Vehicle dynamic control, Traction control system, Hill start assist, dual front airbags, speed sensing and load limiter with pre tensioning seatbelts and speed sensing door lock.

Having entered the hotly contested segment quite late is something to worry, but with the automaker already receiving as much as bookings in days is quite a surprise.

However the never ending list of competitors like the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Kia Sonnet, Mahindra XUV 3OO and Ford Ecosport do have something to watch out for. While in the future the Renault Kigher and Citroen’s compact SUV will be arriving soon as well.
