Priority automobiles the dealer for Renault in Goa has launched the new Kwid facelift in Goa priced at Rs 2.83 lakhs (ex showroom prices). The dealer also launched the Kwid Climber facelift in Goa.
The new Renault Kwid has been updated with several design changes to make it appear more contemporary than before. Taking inspiration from the Renault City K-ZE EV showcased in China earlier this year, the new Kwid’s face receives a new front grille, bonnet and follows the split headlamp layout. The split headlamp layout sees the headlamps move lower down into the bumper from its earlier position, while the LED daytime running light along with the turn indicators are at the place of the headlamp. It also gets new wheel cap design, new LED taillamps and a reworked rear bumper.
New on the Kwid Climber variant however are the same design changes seen on the standard Kwid facelift. However it does get gunmetal grey with orange highlights for the front and rear skid plates, 14-inch Volcano grey alloy wheels, roof rails and for the protection panel around the headlamps. Further adding to the SUV-ish theme is the 184mm ground clearance that accentuates the SUV stance of the car.
On the inside the new Renault Kwid facelift gets an updated dashboard design with piano black centre fascia that makes the cabin experience far richer than before. Also new on the inside are fast charging USB socket, new glovebox, rear power windows, Crossway black upholstery with red outlines on the standard Kwid, Orange and white fabric on the Climber and a rear armrest. Renault has also added a sporty new steering wheel borrowed from the Triber, new digital instrument cluster and a –inch touchscreen infortainment system.
The AMT dial has been repositioned to the floor of the cabin from the earlier dash mounted position, while the power window switches have also been moved to below the touchscreen for ease of use. The touchscreen infortainment system comes with next level Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Media Nav, Video playback and voice recognition.
In terms of features the Kwid gets LED daytime running lights, front and rear power sockets, touchscreen infortainment system comes with next level Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Media Nav, Video playback and voice recognition. On the safety front it gets ABS with EBD, driver and co-passenger, reverse parking sensors and a speed alert system.
Mechanically though the Kwid comes powered by the same engines as before which include a 54bhp 0.8 litre and 67bhp 1.0 litre petrol engine that come mated 5-speed manual and an AMT; however the AMT can only be had on the more powerful motor. Renault has also thrown in Zanskar blue paint scheme in addition to the fiery red, moonlight silver, outback bronze, ice cool white and electric blue on offer earlier.
