Skoda Auto has introduced a new limited edition Rapid sedan known as Rapid Rider edition. The new limited edition model is priced at Rs 6.99 lakhs (ex showroom prices) and is available only in Candy white with a petrol engine.
Commenting on the introduction of the new ŠKODA RAPID RIDER, Mr. Zac Hollis, Director – Sales, Service and Marketing, ŠKODA AUTO India said, “The Rapid Rider offers a compelling combination of the brand’s emotive design, exquisite interiors and class leading safety features, at a very competitive price point. It is deemed to be a best seller setting benchmark for functionality, practicality and spaciousness in its segment.”
Based on the base Active trim, it gets minor cosmetic changes on the outside and added equipment on the inside. The exterior changes compromise of gloss black treatment for the front grille, B-pillar, side foils and trunk spoiler. The sedan rides on same 15-inch wheels from the base trim.
The interior on the other hand receives plush dual tone ebony sand interiors, with ivory slate upholstery. Further complementing the exclusive look are the scuff plates with Rapid inscription. Otherwise the cabin is unchanged but misses out on the touchscreen system and instead it gets a double din audio unit with USB, Aux-in and bluetooth.
Powering the sedan is 1.6 litre petrol which churns out 105 ps of power and 153 Nm of torque mated to a 5–speed manual only. Fuel effiencey figures are rated at 21 21.13 kmpl.
The limited edition Rapid Rider also comes with uncompromised safety and security with features such as dual airbags, anti-lock braking system, and engine immobilizer with floating code system. It also gets rough road package and Parktronic rear parking sensors.
Evoking trust for hassle free ownership for the Rapid Rider edition is Skoda’s Shield Plus that lends 24×7 roadside assistance, extended warranty along with previously introduced 4 years warranty, 4 year roadside assistance and an optional 4 year mantainence package.
