Skoda Auto has released a teaser image of the new 2020 Octavia sedan ahead of its debut this November. Seen in the image is an evolved form of the Octavia currently on sale
The teaser image does confirm that the split headlamp designs of the current Octavia is gone for good and now in place are sharper and larger units’ altogethers. The sketches also showcase a crispier design language adopted by Skoda with the next gen Octavia; hence there are stronger shoulder lines along with more prominent ones on the lower portion of the doors, bonnet and both front and rear bumpers.
Speaking of which the bumper does get an LED daytime running light with a U-shaped chrome surround if that’s true. There are also sharper lines of the bonnet, a sleeker coupe like roofline, a more stylish pair of taillamps with more interesting detailing in it and thicker chrome around the front grille and side window line.
As much as expected, the next generation Octavia’s interior is still under wraps. But grab some interest in the automakers latest global models such as the recently unveiled Scala and a design direction in the interior atleast is understood.
The cabin should borrow much of its basic layout from the Scala, however apart from expecting more features and technology on offer, Skoda might package the 2020 Octavia with an even more upmarket cabin experience with richer materials and better overall quality.
Power and engine details are also under wraps but there is news of 1.5 litre Tsi petrol and a 2.0 litre TDi diesel powerplants. Nevertheless mild hybrid is rumoured to make it to the next gen Octavia as well.
