Tata Motors has amidst the entire lately developed buzz around the Nexon silently launched an updated 2019 Nexon. The new update brings a bigger touchscreen for the infortainment system and a new XT+ variant. The new XT+ trim is priced at Rs 8.02 lakhs and Rs 8.87 lakhs (ex showroom prices) and can be had in petrol and diesel.
The new XT+ trim replaces the existing XT trim and comes loaded with a long list of gadgetry and features such as projector headlamps with daytime running lights, front fog lamps height adjustable driver seat, 8-speaker system, rear A/C vents and a lot more.
The other big change is with the touchscreen infortainment system which has gone a size higher to 7-inch from the earlier 6.5 inch. The system is also said to be more responsive than before.
Powering for the Nexon is a 1.5 litre three cylinder petrol produces 110 bhp and 170nm torque. The four cylinder diesel unit is churns out 110 bhp and 260nm torque. Transmission duties are now handled by the AMT gearbox in addition to the 6 speed manual gearbox.
The Nexon has also been regarded as India’s safest SUV with 5 star safety rating which were secured at the Global NCAP crash test back in December last year.
The new variant along with the updated touchscreen is sure to further add some bling to the already popular Nexon SUV. However a facelift due for launch in 2020 has already begun testing. Nevertheless the Nexon goes up against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport and Mahindra XUV.
