Tata Motors reveals Harrier interior and juicy details

Tata Motors has finally revealed the interior of the much awaited Harrier SUV along with some juicy details as well. Tata Motors is offering the Harrier with 4 trims XE, XM, XT and XZ.

The Harrier interior comes finished in Premium oak brown colour scheme with oak finish for the dashboard. The dashboard itself sports a clean and clutter free look. Standing at the centre is a free standing touchscreen infotainment system followed by A/C vents placed below. A second look at the image also speaks about the thick chrome inserts for the door panels, steering wheel and dashboard along with leather treatment for the steering wheel and door pads.

Boot space stands at 425 litres that can be extended to 810 litres if the rear seats are folded down. The Harrier rides on 235/70 section tyres with steel wheels on the XE and XM trims, while the higher XT and XZ trims come wrapped in 235/60 section tyres with alloy wheels.

On the feature front, the Harrier comes loaded with many high end features such as Xenon HID projector headlights with LED daytime running lamps, LED fog lights with cornering function, 3-D effect taillamps, puddle lamps with logo projection, jbl audio system with 9-speakers, 8-way adjustable driver seat with memory function and rear A/C vents.

Built on the Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced’ Architecture the Harrier comes with 4598mm of length, 1894mm in width and 1706mm in height. The SUV shares a wheel base of 2741mm and a ground clearance of 205mm.

Under its hood lies a 2.2 litre  Kryotec diesel motor that produces 103 KW of power at 3750mm and 350 Nm of torque at 1750 – 2500rpm. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic sourced from Hyundai.

Suspension duty is handled by Independent, lower wishbone McPherson at the front and Semi independent twist beam at the rear. Braking boost is provided by disc at the front and drum at the rear.

Tata Motors is offering the Harrier in 5 exciting paint schemes namely Ariel silver, Orcus white, Thermisto gold, Telestio grey and Calisto gold. An important point to note is that the base XE trim gets the Orcus white colour, whereas second variant can be had in all colours accept Calisto copper, while the variants higher than XT receives all colours.

No word on pricing yet, but we expect the Harrier to be priced in the price range of Rs 16-21 lakhs and since expect to be placed straight away in Jeep Compass and Hyundai Creta terriority.
