Volkswagen has revealed the new Nivus Coupe for emerging markets globally. The Nivus Coupe is based on the Taigun SUV and is built on the MQB AO platform.
The Nivus Coupe for starters is based heavily on the Taigun SUV that’s coming to India pretty soon. It measures 4,266mm in length, 1,757mm in width, 1,493mm in height and uses a wheelbase that stands at 2,566mm. Boot space however stands at 415 litres.
The design of the Nivus Coupe is very businesslike with clean flowing lines yet has a sporty appearance with a slopping roof, hunkered down stance, and roof spoiler. There’s also sharp looking LED headlights flanked a two part grille with a chrome bar in between along with roof rails and plenty of chrome all around the car.
Talking about features, it gets a LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, LED taillamps, fully digital instrument cluster, powered wing mirrors, rear parking sensors, newly developed Volks-Play touchscreen, Wireless function for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Internationally the Nivus Coupe is powered by an EA211 1.0 litre TSI turbocharged bi-fuel ethanol-petrol motor; it produces 128ps and 200Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and drive modes.
There’s no news of the Nivus Coupe making it to India yet but the upcoming Taigun will inspire a lot of the design and features from the Nivus Coupe when it comes to India in 2021.
