Swedish car manufacturer Volvo has introduced a new T8 Inscription trim for the XC90 SUV plug-in hybrid priced at Rs 95.5 Lakhs (Ex showroom)
Features on board the XC90 T8 Inscription are 4-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, head’s up display, ventilated seats, 19 speaker Bowers and Wilkins audio system. Safety being Volvo’s focus brings seven airbags, collision avoidance, city braking system, Adaptive cruise control and a lot more features.
Under the hood is a twin engine setup which employs a 2.0 litre, turbocharged and supercharged engine which churns out a combined output of 407hp and 400Nm torque. The powerplants come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to the front wheels by the engine while the 87bhp electric motor drives the rear wheels. The plug-in hybrid SUV can be drivern in pure electric mode for 40kms and has a 0-100kmph in 5.8 seconds.
Volvo had introduced the XC90 plug-in hybrid SUV in the top of the line Excellence trim which was offered with crystal gear knob, four seats and refrigerator to name a few, but the sticker price tag of Rs 1.31 crore was pretty expensive, with the launch of the Volvo XC90 T8 in Inscription trim, the SUV can now be had as a proper seven seater which not only makes it affordable but also practical offering as well.
