Yamaha enters 125cc scooter segment with Fascino 125

Yamaha India has announced the brands entry into the 125cc scooter segment with the launch of the Fascino 125. Surprising though is the fact that the 110cc variant of the Fascino might not be on sale once BS6 norms kick in around Febuary 2020.

The new Fascino 125 employs what Yamaha calls Classical European styling with new styling and higher quality bodywork. It also gets a new headlight, larger taillight, new gauges, updated feature list and technologies as well.

Powering the scooter is a 125cc blue core engine that is both fuel injected and air cooled. It puts out higher power output that has been increased by 30% and delivers higher fuel economy by 16%. Thus the 125cc scooters’ motor produces 8.2 ps at 6,500rpm and 9.7 Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. The scooter comes mated to a v-belt automatic transmission and delivers 58 kmpl.Yamaha has also introduced the silence start system in the Fascino should work the same style as Honda’s system introduced on the BS6 Activa 125.

The Fascino 125 comes with a 190mm disc at front and a drum at the rear; this however has been mated to the automakers Unified braking system for better control. Buyers can also choose between as many as 7 exciting paint schemes namely Vivid red, Yellow cocktail,  Cyan blue, Matte blue, Metallic black, Dark blue metallic and Sauvé copper. The Fascino 125 goes up against the likes of the Honda Activa 125.
